Common grading scale used for SEE and Class 11–12 in Nepal. Pass mark is usually 35% theory.
What is a Credit Hour?
Weight of a subject. A 5-credit subject affects GPA more than a 3-credit one. On NEB sheets, subjects have different credit hours (e.g. English 4, Physics 5).
GPA formula
GPA = Σ (GP × Credit Hours) ÷ Total Credit Hours
If credits are equal, this becomes a simple average.
Example
Math (5 CH, GP 3.6) + English (4 CH, GP 3.2)
= (3.6×5 + 3.2×4) ÷ 9 = 3.42 GPA
